Hubby's working on a flash wedding animation for a couple who's living in Japan(expats living in Japan for many years). The person in charge told hubby that people who work from home in Japan are considered cool people and they can keep a moustache! Yes, a moustache. If you look carefully in every Japanese series only people who aren't working in offices can keep moustaches. Even a TV anchor are forbidden to keep any! Weirdness!
The Japanese series are portraying their culture rather accurately. For instance, yes it 's true a parent and the child who's a victim of a bully is frowned upon on Japan. It's like weakness in a child is a very bad thing!! It's so bad that teenage suicidal is so common over there.
As for a place to live, it's common that a company will give its workers a dorm to live in(which is usually situated really near to the workplace). The dorm is pretty small of course. Even a 30 square feet space equals up to USD1000 rent. Expensive!!!
With the economic crisis that's forever been going on in Japan, they usually recruit temp workers to which works at least a 3 month contract with a company. It's more cheaper that way because if you have lots of permanent staff workers you would have to pay more due to the commitment of the staffs over the years... yes, increase payroll... etc. There are lots of temp agencies in Japan and yes if you are a temp worker(they call you a Haken) you are SHIT. Yes, Haken's are shit to the eyes of Japanese. The lowest grade of social status in Japan. You can't even get married with a rich man or lady if you are a Haken. Probably the whole family of your loved ones of the significant other would automatically dis you.
If you love Japan so much and want to visit their country, be prepared to bring proper equipment for walking. Visiting Japan can make you thin. If you are used to walking, no problem then. There are so many commuter stations there and to get from one commuter to the other commuter you have to walk. From the commuter to another city, more walking. There's even an itinerary of an activity in Japan from a travel agent which clearly typed "a bus ride to a traditional village; adventure walk from the village to the hotel for 30 minutes to enjoy the scenery's of ancient Japan."
Probably I may exaggerate a little but still... Japanese... one weird culture!!!
This is the story for last week. Awesome huh! Here's hoping to know more about other people's culture through my husband's daily gossip with his clients lol.
