Busy Practicing...

Currently I have no time to blog. My exam is on mid year 2008 and I have already chosen 3 perfect repertoires and my teacher suggested 2 more songs for me to try out. They are:

(B:3) Octobre: Chant d'automne by Tchaikovsky

(C:3) The Tide Came In by Villa-Lobos

I don't mind Chopin as I loooove his music but a depressed and an artistic music is just not my style. I was asked to just practice cause we have plenty of time.

Super Hot Day

One thing I can't stand is the weather being really really hot! I just can't get anything done. There wasn't any rain for a couple of days and Indonesia just had another earthquake and with that North of Peninsula Malaysia had a tsunami warning where people were advised to stay off the beaches.

I don't even have any mood to write anything in my blog. Plus a couple days ago I misplaced my SD card so I was searching everywhere for it and in the end found it on the messy dining table. Today's quite cloudy with some cool breeze, my favorite kind of weather where it's not too hot nor too wet and damp from the rain.

Also when everyone's been starting their fast last Thursday, I've just started mine today. Me sooo hungryyyyyy.

Streamyx Launches 4.0 mb

Yes, the 4mb broadband connection is new in town and people are getting quite excited but from what Malaysians have experience with the whole throttling of 1mb Streamyx speed every now and then, can they give Streamyx a second chance? Have they really improved? Are they going to break many Malaysian hearts?

Well, so far from the posts that I've read from this forum topic "Streamyx 4mb Experience" of Lowyat.Net is far more frustrating than a good news. Tell me, what is really the meaning of Malaysia Boleh?

Okay, probably it is still new and they require a bit more time to fully set it up cause it's quite complicated? My conclusion, lay down all the worst case scenario in one big box or database or file with detailed solutions just in case you encounter any problems, if you're not ready why make other people miserable and complain to other people and make your company look so damn bad.

The favorite word Streamyx likes to use : TUNGGU(WAIT) . They should cut off their other motto's and change it with "Kami sedia membuat anda menunggu hingga akhir hayat."

Nice Matters Award

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I've received my first blog award which is entitled "Nice Matters Awards" from Babybooned. Thanks for being nice and all. I really appreciate it. What is this award about?

From Babybooned:

The originator of the Nice Matters award “those that are just nice people, good blog friends, and those that inspire good feelings and inspiration! Those that care about others, that are there to lend support, or those that are just a positive influence in our blogging world!”

This award makes me feel warm inside. The warmth feeling when there is such an award such as this. The thought of niceness being spread widely worldwide and making such positive energy to us fellow bloggers.

Again thanks to my dear Babybooned!

Now's my turn...I'm giving this award to:

  • Sharlene (for being such a good host for her friends cats! I really admire that!)
  • bZbee (for having a great home business to which I think will help the environment and also mothers out there save more money!!)
  • Puteri Ezza (for being a friend and tagging me a lot. hehe)

I Cried Watching This Video

As usual I was blog hopping and accidentally found this blog Etcetera~Etcetera and one post caught my attention. The post is about Conny Talbot, a very talented young singer, 6 years old and when I watched her sing, I was also like

Farewell Pavarotti!

It was quite a shock when I opened my yahoo mail the pop up news stated that Pavarotti had died. He was fighting with pancreatic cancer till the very end. The video is a performance by James Brown and Pavarotti. Such a fantastic combination.

This aria below is entitled Nessun Dorma and translated in English as Let No One Sleep. This is the late Pavarotti's signature song. A very moving piece.

I Lost 5 Inches in 3 Months.

Today's the day that I finish my 3 months weight training routine. Overall I lost 5 inches of fat on my waist and probably down 1 shoe size to a size 6. This weekend I'm definitely going to treat myself into buying new shoes.

Currently my waist is about 41 inches. There's still a lot to do on the next 12 weeks of a new regime. Next time it'll be whey protein for sure. I want to lose more and be more honest with myself.

I wasn't really keeping a strict diet this time around. I've been eating more carbs, once in a while snuck in candy bars on my workout day and missed a couple of cardio sessions. Plus I only did normal cardio on the eleptical trainer and didn't do the intensive 20 minute cardio.

I've yet taken my after photo. I should do it soon! I know there's a lot of difference because I can feel it and to tell the truth, I feel weird everytime I look in the mirror and not looking at darn fat lady staring back at me. But of course I'm still overweight and any fat that I lose is a gained confidence in me because I know this works and I'm very excited.

Don't get me wrong, till this very day I still don't like to exercise. Exercise is no fun. It's smelly, tiring and can make me feel so distraught after doing 6 reps of the heaviest load. Why I keep doing this is? It's because I feel that by setting a small goal for me to achieve and not setting it up too high, how I have to follow the rules of how to eat right and healthily everyday makes this whole exercise thing a guide to my life to count a few.

Ramadhan is coming and I'm not going to be able to weight train for a month. I don't know why it worries me. Probably I can't trust myself for having a month's rest from my routine. Probably because when Aidilfitri comes around, there would be soo much food and I'll go back to the way I was. I wish I was one of those people who doesn't get fat so easily.

Cats: Time For Their Yearly Checkup

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

After my cats got their freedom after 8 months being inside the cage, it's time for them to go to the vet. I'm currently setting up a list on what I want the vet to check on my cats. Also, I need to call two different vets to get the cheapest budget for all the treatments for my cats.

These include 2 sessions. First session will be: defleaing, deworming, cutting/shaving matted furs on 2 of my cats, ear cleanings and nail clippings.(I would cancel ear cleaning and nail clipping if I do it beforehand)

Second session will be bathing/grooming and their yearly vaccinations. Juju needs a lot of grooming cause his fur is matted so badly I can't even cut it on my own because it's so close to the skin.

I have never had matted fur problems with my kitties before I gave birth to my son. Of course before Drakey was born everything was centered to my cats. I brush them almost everyday. Checked them once a week if there's anything wrong and most importantly they were indoor cats. Well, things have changed now, but no matter how busy I get I still love them so much and now I could only be with them when my son's asleep(daytime or nighttime).

I know other people can have their cats roaming wildly outdoors but, I don't know why I can't bear to see my cats easily getting sick and infested with ticks/fleas/fungal. I feel so ashamed of myself for the way my cats are now and bringing them to the vet is pretty embarrassing.

Looks like the Maine Coon that I wanted to much would have to wait till I don't know when. I thought that by getting my cats out of the cage into their place right now solve everything but with being a mother of a 9 month old son and with my exam coming up next year, it has already made my head spin.

The Worlds Most Intimidating Chef: Ferran Adria

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Today our flooded kitchen is being fixed. The drilling noise surely made my son so scared! Closing both of his ears doesn't work either so I decided to slowly climb up the stairs to my in-laws house. With both of my in-laws at work, I turned on the astro, let Drakey sit beside me playing his toys and turned to channel 11, Travel and Living.

The show that was aired at that time was about Ferran Adria. So I was like meh, and changed to channel 77 and the channel caught my attention where the couple from Arkansas, USA has 16 kids! So I watched that till the very end and glad that they aren't poor and have quite a big house plus they spend around RM4000(I forgot, per week or per month?) After the show ended I turned back to channel 11 and said to myself, okay, lets just see what this show is about and when I heard what Chef Anthony Bourdain explained what he was eating I was like did I hear that right?

The show is of course about the famous Ferran Adria who intimidates other chef's around the world by this wonderful creation of new and extraordinary combination of food that you have never thought of. Usually his customers come for his 30 course menu! Can you believe that? It's fantastic! I could not get my eyes off the television set until the food tasting was done.

These are a couple of foods that can blow your mind.
Apple caviars(it's really like caviar but they are made of apples!)
Egg yolk wrapped in caramel(They melted the caramel nicely around the uncooked yolk)
Green Peas yolk look-a-like(Totally like a yolk but the only thing it's made out of peas)
Foamed carrots(The froth was so light, even Anthony Bourdain inhaled it right to his nose)
A tangled web look a like on a stick which which covers a fried fish. The strands are so delicate and it looks so tantalizing!
Caramel with cheese sandwich. So small so tempting!

Well, that's all that I could remember. If I get my hands on the dvd for that I would definitely buy it! Ferran Adria, you are a genius!

Tagged: SAHM, FTWM, PTHM, WAHM

bZbee tagged me and before I start listing my 3 reasons to be a Stay at Home Mom(SAHM), I'll just write what all the abbreviations mean just in case I need to refer to it one day.

SAHM = Stay at Home Mom
FTWM = Full Time Working Mom
PTWM = Part Time Working Mom
WAHM = Work at Home Mom

1. I want to watch my child grow. I want my son to remember that he grew up with me. I want to fill his early memories with me and I am still traumatic of videos which maids torture the living lights out of kids. I regret for opening the particular email my friend sent me.

2. Giving full attention to my piano classes both theory and practical. I've always loved music and I'm a very musical person. I sing all the time, my mind also thinks in a musical way. I really like to teach kids music. I don't want to turn back one day and say to myself,"I should've done that"..but didn't.

3. I enjoy the freedom of not working under people in the career line that I have little interest in. Even if I work as a programmer or a system analyst, I would end up hating myself till the very end. I admit I made a mistake for listening to my folks and not follow my heart. Now I'm grateful that I'm not dead and able to start everything over again. So, being a SAHM is giving me another chance at life from another perspective which is having a whole loads of time for my music.

As for the future, I'll probably end up with any of the three options whether to be FTWM or PTWM or even WAHM.
